Program Overview
The Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Trainee Program, or EMAT, is a 10-12-month post-graduate training program involving Brown Emergency Medicine (Brown EM) faculty and Advanced Practice Providers to support a comprehensive emergency medicine training program.
The program provides clinical training for newly graduated Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and APPs transitioning into emergency medicine. Training occurs at three Brown University Health teaching hospitals—Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children’s Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, and Newport Hospital—all of which are affiliated with The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Fiona Craft, NP and Samera Nessralla, PA-C are EMAT program co-coordinators. Dr. James Monti is the Advanced Practice Provider Medical Director.
